Proceeds from this year’s derby will support four Alaskan non-profit organizations: Battle Dawgs, Alaska Shriners, the Downtown Hope Center (DHC), and Alaska Sport Fishing Association. Battle Dawgs cares for our warriors one step at a time through therapeutic and exciting experiences by harnessing the natural splendor of Alaska’s landscape by providing unique, direct programs and services to honor and empower our nation’s heroes while raising awareness to the community. The Alaska Shriners is an organization whose philanthropic efforts help provide care to Alaskan children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and other conditions receive much needed care regardless of their family’s ability to pay. The DHC provides meals, shelter, laundry services, and vocational training to homeless and low-income individuals in Anchorage. The Alaska Sport Fishing Association is a statewide public service organization working to improve the quality of our fisheries for sport and personal use/subsistence fisherman, while bringing people together to protect, enhance and improve the Alaskan Fishing Experience.
